Keeping employees engaged during a “right-sizing” event or during turmoil is very difficult. Employees struggle with staying focused and positive when they feel like their basic needs are being “threatened.” In the midst of turmoil, how can a facility expect employees to continue giving great customer service? I will share my story of how I kept my team focused on giving great patient care, and how you can achieve great results, even during a difficult situation.

Brenda DeBastiani is the director of imaging at Mon Health Medical Center. She has 33 years of experience in imaging, which includes 18 years of leadership experience. She received a bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State University and received her MBA from Waynesburg University in December 2019. She is an active AHRA member and has been a certified radiology administrator since 2007. She was the recipient of the 2012 Award for Excellence from the AHRA and received her fellow status in the AHRA in 2014. Brenda is currently on the AHRA Board of Directors and proclaims to be a life-long learner.
