You Say Your Staff Is Not Actively Engaged… Are You?

Wednesday, May 12, 2021, 11 am – 12:30 pm

John Beall, Health System Specialist/Strategic Planner, VA Puget Sound Health Care System

In 2020, Gallup released that the percentage of “engaged” workers in the U.S. — those who are highly involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace — reached 35%, which is the highest level since the organization started tracking the metric in 2000. On the flip side, the report identified that the percentage of workers who are “actively disengaged” — those who have miserable work experiences and spread their unhappiness to their colleagues — was at 13%. This means that a little over 50% of our staff falls under the “not engaged” category — those who are psychologically unattached to their work and company and who put time, but not energy or passion, into their work. This population will usually show up to work and contribute the minimum required while always on the lookout for better employment opportunities.

During this session, we will learn how to improve and model engagement, so you can inculcate your team members that fall in the “not engaged” category.
