Securing Healthcare Networks: Mitigating Risk for Medical Imaging Devices

Andrea Arbelaez, Cybersecurity Project Manager, and Sue Wang, Cybersecurity Engineer, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

This presentation demonstrates how to secure the picture archiving and communications system (PACS) in health care delivery organizations. These systems can be vulnerable to cyberattacks. Securing them can limit exposure to a threat vector that could act as a point where an attack may be performed or serve as a pivot point into an integrated health care information system. The solutions presented can apply to a range of connected medical devices. The session will include a Q&A session.
